Today I saw a program on the Barrera family on KPBS. I was fascinated how this family was raised by their father Lalo and his wife Angie. It gives me many memories of both my parents and how they raised me and my siblings in Los Angeles. My parents came to the US from Mexico in 1955 like many immigrant parents not speaking the language.
I love this type of programming which is real life of unknown families brought to light where thousands of us share the same struggles. It reinforces that true family bonding is what really matters.
